The “Batteria Park,” so named for its former anti-aircraft and naval batteries, still preserves thirteen buildings—known as “casemates”—that once housed the soldiers charged with defending this strategically important port during World War II. In 2008, thanks to public funding, the area underwent a revitalization project that created a nature-walk trail and built a facility intended for future cultural events. Today, Parco Batteria offers visitors not only a chance to relive a significant chapter of Arbatax’s history but also to enjoy a stunning panoramic view of the town.
