Porto Frailis Beach takes its name from the old commercial port that for centuries brought life to this stretch of coast. The name “Frailis” likely refers to the metal-working or mining activities once tied to the harbor: in Sardinian, “su fraili,” from the Latin fabrilis, means “blacksmith,” suggesting that metals were smelted here much like in a foundry.

Cala Moresca is a small, sheltered cove where the calm sea gently laps against the shore. The vivid contrast between the emerald-green waters and the red-hued rocks creates a truly unique setting, making this spot in Tortolì one of the most enchanting along the coast.

The Red Rocks are one of the most iconic natural landmarks along the coast of Ogliastra, and in all of Sardinia. Often described as the “natural cathedral” of Ogliastra, this striking cliff rises about 15 meters above the sea. It’s made of deep red porphyry stone—specifically a vivid vermilion hue—and is part of a larger porphyry vein, which is partly submerged under the sea.
